Treasure Hunt ~ Parent's Cue for November 10th

Wisdom is finding out what you should do and doing it.
When we seek wisdom and ask God for it, He will give it to us. He will help us figure out the wise choice when we need to make a decision. We can find God’s wisdom by reading the Bible and asking trusted Christ-followers.

The monthly memory verse is: “Choose my teaching instead of silver. Choose knowledge rather than fine gold. Wisdom is worth more than rubies. Nothing you want can compare with her,” Proverbs 8:10-11, NIrV.No matter how big or small the decision, God will help you make the wise choice. It might be tempting to compromise wisdom for quick and easy gain, but Solomon teaches us that choosing wisdom first is best.

In Week One’s Bible story, God was pleased with King Solomon and offered to give him whatever he wanted. Solomon asked for wisdom (1 Kings 3:4-15and was rewarded.

Our Bottom Line is: God wants to give you wisdom. Anytime we have a decision to make or a situation we aren’t sure how to handle, we can ask God for wisdom.

MEAL TIME
Ask a kid: How are pleasant and kind words good for you and good for those around you?
Ask a parent: Share about a time when you were “wounded” by someone’s words. What brought healing to you?

NOV. 3rd ~ Last Lesson in our Road to Glory series

Welcome to Kid's Point for Parents!

HONOR
Letting someone know you see how valuable they really are.

WEEK FOUR  ~  Nov. 3rd

MEMORY VERSE
“Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves.” Romans 12:10 NIrV
BIBLE STORY
In Week Four’s Bible story, David led the Israelites in celebrating an historic moment in the kingdom (2 Samuel 6:12b-22a). He was celebrating something God had done, so he wanted to bring more honor to God than to himself.

BOTTOM LINE
Honor God by giving Him the credit.
God has given us everything. So, when we are successful at something in life, we can celebrate that and thank God for what He’s done for us.

MEAL TIME
Ask a kid: What can you do this week to show someone that you see them as valuable?
Ask a parent: Why is it important to give everyone a chance to do something that others might think they can't do?

Parent Cue for Oct. 13th ~ Road To Glory

Welcome to Kid's Point for Parents!

HONOR
Letting someone know you see how valuable they really are.

WEEK TWO   ~  October 13th

MEMORY VERSE
“Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves.” Romans 12:10 NIrV

BIBLE STORY
David and Jonathan * 1 Samuel 18:1-4, 5-9; 19:1-7; 20:1-42
In Week Two’s Bible story, Jonathan is a prince and rightful heir to the throne (1 Samuel 18:1-9; 19:1-7; 20:1-42).  Jonathan chooses to honor God and David by stepping aside and helping his friend take the throne.

BOTTOM LINE
Honor others by putting them first.
When we take the time to think about what the other person wants or needs, and put them above our own desires, it shows how important they are.

MEAL TIME
Ask a kid: What is something you can give up to help someone else feel valuable?
Ask a parent: Who are some groups of people that might sometimes feel overlooked?

Last week in Survivor: Phobia Island See you on SUNDAY! :-)

Welcome to our Kid's Point Blog for Parents!

In our last Bible story for Phobia Island, we remember God’s promise to Abraham that he would receive the Land of Canaan. But the great city of Jericho is blocking Abraham’s family from moving into Canaan (Joshua 6).

Our Bottom Line is: I can be brave because I know God keeps His promises.
Sometimes it’s our fear that keeps us from ever living in the promises God has given us.

MEMORY VERSE
“When I’m afraid, I will trust in You.” Psalm 56:3, NIrV

MEAL TIME
Ask a kid: How can you remember to be courageous in a scary situation?
Ask a parent: When was a time that you made the courageous choice?

Can't wait to see your kids on Sunday morning to finish up this series on COURAGE!

Parent's Cue for 9/22/13 ~ Being Brave

Hello to all our Kid's Point Parents!

Welcome to this week's preview of what is to come next on Survivor: Phobia Island!

We can't wait to see you on Sunday, September 22nd at 10:00am!

In Week Four’s Bible story, Joshua and Caleb were the only two Israelites who spoke up and said God would provide a way for them to enter the Promised Land (Numbers 13–14).

Our Bottom Line is: I can be brave even when others aren’t. Sometimes, everyone is afraid of the same thing. But we can be the ones to have courage because we remember our trust isn’t in our own ideas or strength. Our trust is in God.

MEMORY VERSE:
“When I’m afraid, I will trust in you.” Psalm 56:3, NIrV

BASIC TRUTH:
I can trust God no matter what.

MEAL TIME
Ask a kid: When have you seen someone stand up for what’s right? Do you think they were scared?
Ask a parent: Read Romans 8:38 and talk about how that verse can give us courage.

Week Three of Survivor: Phobia Island Sept. 15th PREVIEW for Parents

Hello to all our Kid's Point Parents!

Welcome to this week's preview of what is to come next on Survivor: Phobia Island!

We can't wait to see you on Sunday, September 15th at 10:00am!

In our Week Three Bible story, Moses was up against an impossible task: On one side is the Red Sea, on the other side is the Egyptian army coming after the Israelites (Exodus 14). Moses stood strong in the face of fear and trusted God with the outcome.
Our Bottom Line is: I can be brave even when things seem impossible. When we follow God into what seems impossible, we can see Him do amazing things that we never imagined.

MEMORY VERSE:
“When I’m afraid, I will trust in you.” Psalm 56:3, NIrV

BASIC TRUTH:
I can trust God no matter what.

MEAL TIME

Ask a kid: What’s something in your neighborhood or town that seems impossible to fix? How could acting courageously help?

Ask a parent: When was a time that you faced a seemingly impossible situation? What made it feel scary?
